Paranoid personality disorder is a mental health condition characterized by a persistent and pervasive distrust of others. This is a mental condition in which a person has a long-term pattern of distrust and suspicion of others. People with PPD may have a difficult time trusting others and may be constantly on guard, suspecting that others are trying to deceive, harm, or exploit them.
