I fear bloodshed in Pakistan: says Ayaz Latif Palijo, President Awami Tehreek

Ayaz Latif Palijo is a Sindhi activist, lawyer, writer and a politician. He was born in Hyderabad to a Baloch mother, the women’s rights activist and artist Jeejee Zarina Baloch, and a South Asian leftist father and founder of Awami Tahreek, Rasool Bux Palijo. He is also known for his aggressive speeches and outspoken attitude towards the dictatorships and feudalism and has remained at the forefront of the movement for Peace, human rights and women’s rights in Pakistan. The language of the interview is urdu (Hindi).

JIJI ZARINA BALOCH’S 5TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT HELD IN BIRMINGHAM

Birmingham : “If Zarina were alive, she would have been with her maruara (beloved people) in the camps and other places singing songs, raising awareness about their plight and conducting relief work for them”. This was stated by Suraiya Makhdoom at a fund-raising event for the flood affected people in Sindh, which was held to mark the 5th anniversary of Jiji Zarina Baloch in Birmingham, UK on 30th October 2010 at St Mary’s Parish Centre, Harborne.

For the last four decades Jeejee Zareena has remained a symbol of hope, revolution and struggle in Sindh.

Jiji Zarina always quoted Hyder Bux Jatoi, Jam-e-mohabbat piyay Sindh

Jeejee always sangs “Jieay Sindh aen Jieay Sindh, Jam-e Muhabat Pieay Sindh” and “paan khey haan azad ghurjey watan” the entire Sindh danced with her words, because what she sang, what she taught and what she wrote, came straight from her heart.
