Is Mr. Zardari on the way out?

The latest word on the street is that Mr. Zardari is getting shunted out of the house on the hill as well as the ivory tower he dwells in complete solitude and indifference to the suffering of the poor mortals (especially Sindhis). Powers that be are said to be planning to swap him with Mr. Nawaz Sharif’s former minister and a close relative, Ishaq Dar. Having reluctantly handed power to a party the establishment never liked or trusted, it has now become clear that AZ’s tryst with power is more than hard a pill for the establishment to swallow.

I am The Boss, Says Gilani

Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said he, and not President Asif Ali Zardari, is running the country. Zardari is under growing pressure to relinquish his sweeping powers that the premier is envisaged to have in the country’s original constitution. ” I should tell you that I am the chief executive and the chief executive is the head of the government,” Gilani said in an interview. …Media in recent weeks  have reported Gilani’s unease over Zardari’s constant interference in the day-to-day affairs of the government, mainly through some of the ministers that Gilani had to induct in his cabinet on the president’s instructions…

A letter was published entitled ”An open letter to Mr Zardari” in Daily Dawn dated 19 May, 2008, indicating danger of stubbornness and inflexibility from a circle of courtiers encircled around him who will not provide a good source of advices but only misguidance, insanity and illadvices to serve their own vested interests.The same thing happened and atlast they depressed Mr. Zardari and became a bad source for his besiege and degradation. At last sanity prevailed and a good decision for the restoration of the Chief Justice of Pakistan was taken in the early hours of 16th March 2009
