… fact of the matter is that the Sindhi leaders and PPP leaders with whom we had lots of hope attached, have given us so many troubles that we don’t feel any appreciation for them. They are now letting the BBs murder go unaccounted for. This is just unfortunate and some times its hard to digest.

Let us go after the most powerful and obvious force behind assassination of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and that is Pervez Musharraf. Once we get him into the trial room all truth will come out.
We must write letters to the government and leaders of any country where Musharraf finds a shelter. Let us close the circle on him. One Target, one Goal, and Tangible outcome is how powerful strategies are fed.
We are planning a public rally in front of the White House very soon. We will reach out to SANA, WSI, WSC, PPP, Muslim League (N), ANP, and all other human rights organizations seeking their fullest cooperation and participation.
In Pakistan, Intelligence agencies have gone a tad too far in subverting the state they are supposed to serve. The [UN]commission is correct in observing that “pervasive involvement of intelligence agencies in diverse spheres, which is an open secret, has undermined the rule of law, distorted civilian-military relations and weakened some political and law enforcement institutions. At the same time, it has contributed to widespread public distrust in those institutions and fed a generalised political culture that thrives on competing conspiracy theories.”
Ordinary Pakistanis, especially those who cannot read English, should be given the opportunity to access the report in its entirety, instead of leaving them at the mercy of spin-doctors and prejudiced television anchors trashing the report.

The commission, from the very word go, builds up its argument of ‘rogue establishment’. This dimension of the report makes it arguably the most important document to have been produced in recent times. A document that is likely to become an international reference point against Pakistan’s ‘establishment’.

Appeal to Bring all Culprits in Benazir Bhutto’s Murder to Justice
Although it took more than two years for the truth to come out from the UN but finally it came and it holds General (retd.) Pervez Musharraf responsible for the assassination of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. We demand from the Pakistan Government to pursue the cause of justice for Benazir Bhutto vigorously by taking immediate legal action against former Pakistani dictator, his agents and co-conspirators, and government officials pointed out in the UN report. We further demand that Pakistan’s various intelligence agencies, particularly Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) be re-organized so that they will protect our true leaders instead of serving dictators.
United Nations investigation team has identified many powerful individuals, agencies, and high level government officials including General Musharraf and his political allies abating the local investigation and creating a huge smoke screen by tempering evidence and by lying to the media and the world. Hosing down of the crime scene, refusal by ISI and local official to authorize autopsy in spite of the insistence of the medical team, denying required level of security to Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, hurriedly commissioning Scotland Yard team to investigate cause of the death within very narrowly defined scope were a few examples of preemptive attempts by Musharraf regime to fake its sincerity into the investigation of this tragedy.

California: PPP California held a meeting at Dr M. Kaiyoom’s House after the release of U.N.O,report on the assassination of Shaheed Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto. After reading some key findings of the report, such as how the intelligence agency was controlling the Pakistani Police even though it has no jurisdiction in it. The Police officers spoke of how the agency took away suspects and made them disappear, this gave the police no chance of forming a case.
Pervez Musharraf announced that Shaheed Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto had died from hitting her head on the lever of the car’s escape hatch. But the investigators found no blood or tissue on the handle. Police team members reported seeing people cleaning the vehicle, even though investigations were still going on. If Shaheed Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto had hit her head on the lever of the car’s escape hatch, then what happened to the blood? And why was the crime scene cleaned up without investigation.
We ask for justice for Shaheed Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto, a leader who gave her life for the People of Pakistan . We demand that the killers of our great leader be punished for the crime they committed on December 27th, 2007.

[ The following comment opted from YouToube — In a recent interview with David Frost, Benazir Bhutto was asked about the previous attempt to assassinate her in October. Her response is well worth a second listen in the wake of her death. It seems that Ms. Bhutto suspected the involvement of Pakistan’s security services and told President Musharraf as much. After she received a letter from Mr. Musharraf warning her of the various terrorist organizations who were planning to target her for assassination, she wrote back stating her view that “…while these [terrorist] groups may be used, I thought it was more important to go after the people who supported them, who organized them, who could possibly be the financiers… for those groups.” Perhaps her most interesting remark was about one security agent she suspected of being involved in the bombings who, she said, “had dealings with Omar Sheikh … – MarzuqVision — December 28, 2007]

by: Zulfiqar Halepoto, Hyderabad, Sindh
I am writing these lines with great disappointment and anger on the state of affairs in Sindh in all sectors of governance and the conduct of present regime and especially the performance of PPP.
I have visited 18 districts of Sindh for a district level consultation to hear the voices of the people on six issues education, health, food (agriculture, water and environment), housing, and natural resource management). This is an initiative of an international NGO.

My respected and dearest Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Saheba. The finest daughter of the East.
I am writing you this email with wet eyes, heavy heart, deep compassion, profound grief and heartfelt thoughts as the revival of democratic rule in the country has failed to bring social justice, peace and rule of law in the country. Unfortunately Pakistan is trapped by mediocre and corrupt rulers again and again.

This is really good analysis, and overall I agree(at personal level),and in my opinion there is no need for celebrations which is premature act—Time will tell us and indicate more about this so-called independent judicial system(INCLUDING RECENT EVENT of restoration of Judges).Yes,this is true that Right Wing parties (WHO ARE PRODUCTS OF MARTIAL LAW OF ZIA REGIME)who have damaged Democracy always—are now celebrating their first success and have proved once again supremacy/upper hand of Punjab dominance in Pakistan? particularly after assassination of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto!.Considering all factors/players involved in Pakistan politics(domestic and internationally) in my best judgment this so called victory of lawyers movement will be short-lived and same politicians particularly from Punjab will create a huge resistance against struggle of provincial autonomy and other national Rights of small provinces. Also we will closely watch the role of present/future Supreme courts(including their composition) in Pakistan and their likely decisions in regard to Rights of small provinces. Again, in my opinion it is still too early to celebrate for Sindhis because sooner or later we may come across another wave of political turmoil/turbulence in the country with involvement of new faces of JI, TI and other products of Martial law like Shareef brothers and so called Sindhi nationalist elements inside Sindh- –therefore extreme vigilance is required here as PAST indicates only disasters in Pakistan politics and who controlled that Past?? Without any doubt, same elements as mentioned above.
