Officials: NATO choppers kill up to 28 Pakistani troops

NATO commander expresses condolences to relatives of any Pakistani soldiers who ‘may have been killed or injured’

NATO aircraft attacked a military checkpoint in northwest Pakistan on Saturday, killing up to 28 troops and prompting Pakistan to shut the vital supply route for NATO troops fighting in Afghanistan, Pakistani officials said.

In a statement sent to reporters, the Pakistan military blamed NATO for Friday’s attack in the Mohmand tribal area, saying helicopters “carried out unprovoked and indiscriminate firing.”

The attack comes as relations between the United States and Pakistan — its ally in the war on militancy — are already badly strained following the killing of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden by U.S. special forces in a secret raid on the Pakistani garrison town of Abbottabad in May. …

And the restriction of such mob justice to third world hellholes is relatively recent. Look at highly civilized Germany in 1938. Or America South of the Manson-Nixon line anytime before 1970 or so. …

Lahore : Ahmedi prayers centers attacked, scores dead

Sindh Medical College Alumni Association of North America (SMCAANA) strongly condemns this barbaric act of hatred and mass murder at mosques in Lahore.

Problem is that, in Pakistan, every target is a soft target except few. This has to be taken care of by better intelligence otherwise these will continue.

We do not preach tolerance and respect of each other in Pakistan. This tolerance and respect for each other and the rule of law has to come from within and from the Government.

Every segment of society needs to not only condemn this but also stand for each other irrespective of their beliefs and ethnic origin.
