Nepal’s parliament elects Bidhya Devi Bhandari as nation’s first female President
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s parliament has elected a Communist leader who has long campaigned for women’s rights as the Himalayan nation’s first female President.
Parliament speaker Onsari Gharti announced that Bidhya Devi Bhandari of the Communist Party of Nepal Unified Marxist-Leninist received 327 votes against her opponent’s 214 in parliament on Wednesday.

India’s first double decker Shatabdi Express to run from Mumbai to Goa: All you need to know
The Railways ministry announced that India’s first air-conditioned double-decker Shatabdi train will run from Mumbai to Goa soon. Keeping the tourist demand during winters in mind, the Ministry has introduced the double-decker train on that route.
India’s first double-decker train was flagged off in October 2011 and it still operates between Howrah in West Bengal and Dhanbad in Jharkhand. The double-decker coaches have been introduced on other routes as well, however, this is the first time a Shatabdi train is getting the double-decker coaches.

Uber set to launch operations in Pakistan

In what is surely a huge development for Pakistan and its emerging tech economy, Uber — the disruptive taxi-hailing service app which has taken the world by storm in recent years — is all set to launch operations in Pakistan.
“We can confirm we are currently recruiting for a team in Lahore, and are very excited about launching in Pakistan as we see huge potential in the way we can help people move around their city safely and reliably,” Shaden Abdellatif, communications manager for Uber’s Middle East and Africa operations told ValueWalk, an online publication.
“We are also excited about the opportunity for economic empowerment we can bring to the drivers we partner with,” Abdellatif added.

Justin Trudeau: Bringing old Canada back

On November 4, Justin Trudeau will be officially sworn in as the Prime Minister of Canada, following a landslide victory at the largest elections turnout in 20 years.
Trudeau is a legacy child taking over as agent of change for his father Pierre Trudeau, the 15th Prime Minister, who also happens to have ushered in one of Canada’s most glorious periods. Within days of being elected, Trudeau Jr. has already begun to undo almost 10 years worth of damage left in the wake of the previous (toxic) government.
But it seems that Trudeau has captured the world’s attention not because of his political prowess but because the 43-year-old also happens to be ‘super hot’.
In fact, it seems that as of last week, the planet simply can’t stop ogling our prime minister.
