– ‘US Aid is being used to Kill Secular Balochs and Sindhis in Pakistan’. Protesters Gathered in Front of Pakistan Consulate in Houston

HOUSTON, MAY 27, 2011: Several dozens of Americans of Sindhi and Baloch origin gathered on Friday to protest in front of the Pakistan consul-general in Houston condemning …., Islamabad’s support to terrorist outfits and state terrorism against people of Balochistan and Sindh. The peaceful but vocal protest was held on Jones Road in front of the Pakistan Consulate in Houston.
Protesters also asked the U.S. government to cut all aid given establishment and Government because of its ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan and Sindh. This rally was organized by the World Sindhi Congress and American Friends of Balochistan, Participants raised slogans demanding an end to the killings in Baloch and Sindhi activists, against security forces’ atrocities in Sindh and Balochistan- both historically secular people. The protesters mainly raised slogans against deep state. “We express indignation over the discovery of world’s most dreaded terrorist Osama bin Laden just a stone-throw of the Military Academy, the South Asian Muslim country’s West Point,” said Malik Baloch of A.F.B. said. “We are here to register our protest to deep state’s continued support to global terrorism and using U.S. taxpayers money to finance the world’s fastest growing nuclear armaments program,” Said Mr Mansor Samo of World Sindhi Congress. “There are no doubts in our minds that generals have turned the country into an epicenter of global terrorism.” Opined Ahmar Mastikhan, who flew for Washington, D.C. to attend this event. Protesters voices concerns over Islamabad’s continued involvement in state terrorism, extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and torture of secular Baloch and Sindhi leaders and activists in Balochistan and Sindh. Since July last year, they have killed around 2000 secular Baloch activists. “It appears that Pakistani Army has been successful in keeping their terrorism activities inside and outside the country. USA must lend its ears to the voices of secular people of Sindh and Balochistan,” said Mr Umed Laghari, the Senior Vice Chairman of World Sindhi Congress. Mr Malik Baoch and Mr Mansoor Samo jointly handed over the protest memo to the Consul-General of Pakistan in Houston.
