ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has given a presidential pardon to Interior Minister Rehman Malik after the latter was convicted by the Lahore High Court in two NAB corruption reference cases.

The accountability court had sentenced Rehman Malik to a three-year-long prison term in each of the two NAB references. The prison sentences were declared after the minister failed to appear in court.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday dismissed the appeal filed by Interior Minister Rehman Malik against his conviction in the corruption references.

The accountability court had sentenced Rehman Malik to a three-year-long prison term in each of the two NAB references. The prison sentences were declared after the minister failed to appear in court.
