Remove Zardari” move & UN commission on Benazir: Any link?

by: Aziz Narejo, TX

Zardari’s speech today and his detractors’ reactions paint a very grim picture. The citizens have a reason to be alarmed and frightened.

Zardari’s war speech has ironically provided some more ammunition to the so-called anti-Zardari gang comprising some media-men and others. They have renewed their vitriolic attacks against his person.

“The gang” has again spread the scare that the GHQ and the courts are about to get rid of “corrupt” Zardari. Now who believes that the movers and shakers in Pakistan and their godfathers remove Pakistan’s elected leaders on the basis of their inefficiency, incompetence or corruption although that has always been the charge sheet? Is it not true that some “other reasons” have always been the “real reasons”.

There are quite a few people who believe that Asif Ali Zardari is his own worst enemy. They think that his own policies have pushed him into a tight corner.

But not many will buy the story that he is being pushed out of the presidency because of his incompetence or his financial scandals. What is the reason then? Is he trying to insert his own lines in the drama instead of staying with the ‘approved’ script?

What is the real reason?

Not many people believe that the UN commission probing Benazir Bhutto’s assassination is a “real thing” or the one of any consequence. But being what it is, is it going to expose at least some faces? Is that the reason to get rid of Zardari before the commission announces what could be the most diluted and mildest findings of any of the commissions appointed by the world body? Just a thought.
