Arthritis (JoRan jo Soor/ JoRoNo ka Dard) is basically a medical condition in which an individual suffers from joints pain. It is caused by damage to the joints. Most of the time people above 45-55 suffers Arthritis. In Ayurveda, the treatment of arthritis centers on the digestive system along with efforts to reduce the pain as well as inflammation of joints. Following remedies may help: A drink made of 2 tsp lemon juice, ½ tsp honey, 1/2 tsp turmeric (haldi/head) and 250 ml warm water should be taken twice daily. Get joints massaged with mustard oil. Do light exercise. Drink orange juice or intake Vitamins C in any form 4 times daily. Under Ayurveda treatments for arthritis, to eat food that does not lead to creation of gas (Baadee). Avoid things like Sugar or Sugar products, refine carbohydrates, cake and cake products, chocolate and cola. Eat a combination of carrot, beat root, cucumber and green salad with dressing of lemon juice. Eat colourful fruits, apples, oranges, grape fruit, radish and papaya. Consume fresh washed raw green vegetables. And also following spices may help and benefit: asafoetida, garlic, ginger, fennel and turmeric.
