The following news items in two different dailies, if put together, would seem to indicate that there may be a surrender deal in the offing with Fazlullah and his gang. Maybe we will get to hear the good news before Eid. The News also suggested in a news item today that Muslim Khan’s capture was also a surrender under some deal (probably to release his family members) and made to look like a catch in order to protect him from his own Taliban.
Families of Fazlullah, Sufi released

Swat – Police released the family members of central Amir of defunct Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan , Swat chapter, Maulana Fazlullah, and Tehrik-I-Shariat- i-Nifaz-e- Mohammadi Chief, Maulana Sufi Muhammad, here on Saturday.
According to details, Saidullah, Marsia and Marium, the children of Fazlullah, Sufi’s wife Shahida, daughter-in- law Tahira, daughter Tayyiba, and two sons Rahmat and Barkatullah were freed. Sufi’s other three sons named Fazlullah Farooq, Abdullah and Abdur Rahman were shifted to Haripur Jail.
Meanwhile, five militants handed over themselves to security forces in tehsil Kabal while 13 others surrendered in Chugalai Bune, according to Swat Media Centre.
Fazlullah decides to surrender?

LAHORE: Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat chief Mullah Fazlullah has decided to surrender, a private TV channel quoted its sources as saying on Saturday. According to the channel, he had been wounded and was in hiding in a cave. The law enforcement agencies had cordoned off the area of his hideout, the channel added. Security forces had been told to complete the operation in Swat before Eid, the channel concluded. daily times monitor
