Pakistan lifts ban on Dostana

While the whole of India couldn’t stop rolling with laughter looking at the antics of two on-screen self confessed homosexuals in Dostana, the Pakistanis were having it otherwise. The Lahore High Court had imposed a ban on the film stating that it has some highly objectionable “gay contents”, following a writ petition filed by Khuram Khan. The petitioner maintained that Dostana promoted gay marriage which is prohibited in all religions. Now Pakistanis can join their Indian counter parts, as Lahore High Court has lifted the ban and given a go-ahead for provincial screening in four cinemas of Lahore.
