The Forum for Peace and Harmony is going to organize a three days Sindh-Rajasthan Conference on January 10-12, 2009 in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan. The conference will cover following themes and several activities will be organized under them: Peace Initiatives, Art & Literature, Culture, Journalism , Parliamentarians, Migrated people, Divided Communities / Border Communities, Dalits , Agriculture, Women, Youth, Social Movements, Children Issues, Pilgrimages / Sacred Place of Sindh Rajasthan, Labor Movements , Trade & Commerce.

Rs1 billion fund established for Sindh heritage

KARACHI: The Sindh government has established an endowment fund of Rs1 billion for the preservation of the physical heritage of Sindh, it was reliably learnt here on Saturday.

Highly placed sources said the government had also constituted a 14-member management board to manage the fund and evaluate, pass and monitor the heritage conservation projects.

We urge to be as similar as Justice Rajinder Sachar Commission of India and a similar action program for Sindhis and Balochs by the government of Pakistan

I heard about the Justice Rajinder Sachar Committee report on social, economic and educational status of Muslims across India was tabled in Lok Sabha.

It recognizes special problems of the Muslim community in India and suggest very creative measures relating to affirmative action programs, special quotas etc to help needy Muslims.

A brief review indicates to me that condition of Muslims in India is generally similar to condition of Sindhis and Balochis in Pakistan. We need a similar Commission, a similar report and a similar action program by the government of Pakistan for our community.
