What is a Sensory defensiveness condition?
Some common symptoms o sensory defensiveness condition- Dislikes touches, hugs, scratching or rubbing the spot that has been touched. Reacts badly to light, anxiety, and aggression. Fussy about tags, collars, textures, difficult to adjust to cloths or uncomfortable to cloths, skin rashes, uncomfortable to some rags and fabrics, dislikes the touches of animals, very ticklish, irritation with brushing hair or shampoo, easily gets to cold, hot, uncomfortable to noise and sound, irritated to light or sun light, fear to elevator, heights, stairs, irritation with odors and perfumes, cleaning supplies, soaps, lotions, irritation with grass, fears all the time, get sick easily, over excited, sneezing, coughing, irritation to vacuum cleaners, toilet flush, fear of dentist, irritation with vibration, sensitive feelings to different things etc. If you have above symptoms or symptoms like that, it means you have sensory defensiveness condition.
If you have sensory defensiveness condition, it means you have vulnerable nervous system, digestive system, allergies, leaky gut syndrome, and parasite over growth in colon. The relationship between allergies and sensory defensiveness is well known.
Treatment- Cut sugar and sugar products, wheat and wheat products, peanuts, prawns/shrimps, rice and rice products, potato and potato products from your diet. Eat grape fruit, avoid the environment with gives you allergies, avoid constipation, limit carbohydrates, and take multi-minerals and multi-vitamins, eat washed fresh green leafy vegetable, use garlic and ginger in your food if you are not allergic to them, chew your food well, eat deep water fish, avoid process foods, eat papaya and radish, use black pepper and raw seeds, drink 8 to 10 glasses of clean fresh water, take yogurt early in the morning with full glass of water every day to introduce pro-biotic bacteria (friendly bacteria of yogurt to you digestive system.

What is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
The children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), usually could not stay on any schedule. Forgetting the series of tasks, unable to complete their job assigned by teacher or parents. Make the parents frustrated with their behaviors. They make their bed room un-organized. Cloths, books every thing disaster. They forget books at home when they need at school and at home when they need at school and may other things.
Reason of ADHD in children: Consumption of too much sugar and sweet things.
Treatment: Cut the consumption of sugar and sugar products, chocolate, Wheat products, corns and corn syrup, grapes, raisins, dates, water melon, foods contain artificial colours and dyes, puddings, cookies and cakes, soft drinks, mix sweet drinks, and ketchup and other toxic chemical foods.

Digestive problems
If you are experiencing abdominal gas, burping, burning, bloating, abdominal swelling, abdominal discomfort, winds more than normal, constipation or diarrhea, cracked nails, food allergies, irregular bowels, mood swings, anxiety, poor memory, skin problems and you are more than 40 years then it might be possible that you have Low stomach acid levels (low stomach acid levels symptom, are mostly as same as Acid reflux symptoms), low digestive-enzyme levels and leaky-gut syndrome.
Treatment. Cut sugar and refine carbohydrates (cakes, cookies, candies etc), chew properly, do not drink water just after meal, eat beetroot (Chakunder), eat raw vegetables and fruits, (especially radish/moori/mooli), gineger (adraq), Onions (basr), Garliq (thoom), take multi-vitamins and mineral, and plain yogurt early in the morning with a glass of water (lasi) every day up to 6 months to 2 years depends on the severity of problem.

The Healing Tea
Black or green tea with out sugar has shown some real benefits such as reducing heart disease and the risk of pancreatic, prostate, stomach and lung cancer. It because of its range of balanced vitamins and antioxidant properties. Green tea has concentration of flavonoids and polyphenols which have healing properties. A recent study has also found that the green tea antioxidants may prevent or reduce the severity of rheumatoid arthritis because they inhibit Cox-2 gene that triggers inflammation. The green tea’s antioxidents help the liver to work more efficiently because green tea help to control blood sugar levels and it also lower the body fat. Green tea may also help to lower the blood pressure. Laboratory studies show that the polyphenols in green if taken with out sugar can help prevent or reduce the risk of some cancers.

Medical advances mean HIV patients more likely not to die with AIDS
David Grahm
“You can’t live your life with a gun to your head,” says 52-year- old Gary, who tested positive for HIV in 1985. “At some point, you have look away and get on with things.”
While Gary is rigorous about his drug routines and follows his doctor’s orders, he no longer waste time speculating about when he will die.
“I stopped asking my doctors how long I had to live 20 years ago,” says the Toronto house painter. (Gary asked us not use his last name.) “And I stopped paying attention to survival time statistics because, especially in the beginning, it was a pretty safe assumption that I wasn’t going to live very long.”
A Lot Has changed since then. Not only are people living longer with HIV, in the findal analysis most of them will not die of AIDS at all.
Research confirms that, in the developed world, AIDS has been transformed from a lethal disease into a chronic and manageable condition.
A recent study lead by Bruce Schckman, an assistant professor of public health at New York’s Weill Cornell Medical College, found that someone diagnosed with the AIDS virus who receives treatment can expect to live about 24 years on average.
That’s good news, considering that, 1993, the average life expectancy for a symptom-less person infected with HIV was less than seven years.
A similar Danish study on HIV survival times conducted between 1995 and 2005 was presented last year at the XVI international AIDS conference in Toronto. The study found that, in Denmark, someone who is newly diagnosed with HIV at age 25 is now expected to live to age 63, or age 57 if the patient is also infected with hepatitis C.
“The patients can now, on a long term perspective, plan their professional career, join a pension plan and start a family,” the researchers say….

Sugar Associated with Mental Illness
In a study of the effects of sugar on the development of mental and psychological disorders, nutritionist Paul Pitchford observed, “It weakens the mind, causing : loss of memory and concentration, nervousness, shyness, violence, excessive or no talking , negative thought, paranoia, and emotional upsets such as self-pity, arguments, irritability, and the desire for only sweet things in life.” According him people who stop eating sugar “nearly experience higher spirits, emotional stability, improved memory and speech, restful sleep and dreams, fewer colds and dental problems and better health in general.”

Fiber
Fiber prevents constipation, colon cancer, hemorrhoids, heart disease, and obesity. Fiber contributes to a feeling of fullness and lowers the glycemic index of your meal. It helps prevent insulin resistance/ diabetes.
—
Glycemic Index
The glycemic index was first developed in 1981 by a team of scientists lead by Dr. David Jenkins, a professor of nutrition at the University of Toronto, Canada. Carbohydrate foods that find their way into the bloodstream gradually (fruits, green vegetables, and legumes) produce minimal insulin responses are called low glycemic indices. Foods bread products, rice, sugar, honey, soda bottle, fruit juice, potatoes corn and etc) that increase the general circulation with glucose induce a surge of insulin are called high glycemic indices. High glycemic foods give sharp rise to high blood sugar is extremely unhealthy for the body. High blood sugar causes insulin resistance/ diabetes-II, irreversible damage to nerves, blood vessels, and organ specially kidneys and heart. Poorly controlled blood sugar is the main reason of the diabetics, increased risk to kidney disease, heart attack, and blindness.

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS
1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.
2. Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.
3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.
4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.
6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.
7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered, increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.
8. Working your brain during illness working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of
the brain as well as damage the brain.
9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.
10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.

************ *******
The main causes of liver damage are:
1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause. 2. Not urinating in the morning. 3. Too much eating. 4. Skipping breakfast. 5. Consuming too much medication. 6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring , and artificial sweetener. 7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit. 8. Consuming raw (overly done) Foods also add to the burden of liver. Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.
We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary
chemicals according to “schedule.”
Because:
Evening at 9 – 11 PM : is the time for eliminating unnecessary/ toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.
Evening at 11pm – 1 am : is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.
Early morning 1 – 3 am : detoxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.
Early morning 3 – 5 am :
detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.
Morning 5 – 7am: detoxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.
Morning 7 – 9 am: absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30 am , for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30 am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to
eat breakfast late until 9 – 10 am rather than no meal at all.
Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow
produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don’t sleep late.

Does your face match with the area under your eyes? Here?s help for combating dark circles and under-eye puffiness.
Causes
Dark circles are often caused due to sleeplessness or disturbed sleep. If you find yourself developing dark circles, you need to first catch up on your sleep. Genetics too could predispose you to developing dark circles.?
Other factors causing dark under-eye circles include:
Drinking an excess of beverages that contain caffeine? Smoking, Allergies, Thyroid problems, A lack of iron in your body during menstruation. This often contributes to dark circles, which is why some women have a tendency to develop dark circles during their period.?
Remedies
First of all, try and figure out the reason you have developed dark circles. Have you always had them? Are they a recent occurrence? Does your mother have dark circles under the eyes as well? Once you can pinpoint the cause for dark circles, it would be much easier for you to get rid of them.?
1. Are you allergic to something? If yes, work on avoiding the allergens.?
2. Apply Vitamin E to the area under your eye. You could open up a Vitamin E capsule, and apply a little oil. Swallow the rest of the oil. This not only helps you get rid of dark circles, but also reduces puffiness around the eyes. In addition, regular application of Vitamin E delays the onset of wrinkles.?
3. Apply creams that contain Vitamin C.?
4. Inverted asana postures work wonders for dark circles. Try doing the sarvangasana everyday. Often dark circles and under-eye puffiness is caused due to sinusitis. Jal Neti is extremely beneficial in such cases, as it internally cleanses your entire facial region, rejuvenating it. Do the Jal Neti at least five times a week to clean out your entire nasal passage.?
5. Swallow a capsule of cod liver oil everyday. It strengthens eyes.?
6. Take a teaspoon of tomato juice, a few drops of lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric powder and a little flour, enough to make a paste. Apply this paste to the under-eye area, and wash off after fifteen minutes.?
7. Drink at least ten glasses of water everyday. There is no stressing this enough. If you do not drink at least eight glasses of water everyday, you are not providing your body with as much water as it requires for flushing out toxins. Do not wait until you are thirsty before drinking up. By the time your body cries ?I?m thirsty!?, you are already severely dehydrated.?
8. Avoid stepping out in the sun, especially between noon to four, when the sun is at its strongest. Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes, and the delicate skin around it, from the harmful effects of UV radiation.??
9. Apply a cold, used tea bag to your eyes. You could also applied used, cold, herbal tea leaves to your eyes, to sooth them.?
10. Apply a concealer to the area under your eyes, to hide dark circles. Use a colour that is every so slightly lighter than the shade of your skin. Apply the concealer gently; do not stretch or pull the skin from this delicate area.?
11. Lie down, close your eyes and apply cucumber or potato slices to your lids. Leave on for ten minutes and remove. Wash the area with cold water. This soothes tired eyes instantly, and helps boost blood circulation in the under-eye area.?
12. Try out dark circle remover creams available in the market. Make sure they are of a recognized brand before applying them to your face.

Calcium: A major mineral
Calcium builds strong bones and teeth, reducing risk of osteoporosis, helps regulate the amount of water in and around your cells and keeps your muscles from cramping. Researchers have recently discovered that a calcium-rich diet may reduce the risk of high blood pressure while lowering the risk of colon cancer.

Homocysteine and heart
Most amino acids are friendly but the researcher found homocysteine as major culprit of increased risk of heart attack. Homocysteine trigger blood clots and other substance that block the arteries. But the treatment of elevated homocysteine is easy. Just consuming adequate amounts of the B vitamins- espacially Vitamin B6, B12 and Vitamin B9 (Folic acid) efficiently lowers the amount of homocysteine in the blood. The combination of folic acid 400 mcg with vitamin B6, B12 with mix green leafy veggies are good treatment of elevated homocysteine and it will keep you away from heart attack and other heart problems.

Diabetes- II or Insulin Resistance
Insulin resistance is a main risk factor for developing diabetes-2, heart disease and kidney diseases. It is possible to reverse insulin resistance through low Carbohydrate diets, exercise and weight loss. Fat cells are very resistant to insulin. Through exercise and weight loss they become sensitive to insulin. Though Diabetes- 2 is multi-factor disease but most of the time more than 80% of diabetics are insulin-resistant. Low Carbohydrate diet help reduce Insulin resistance not only that but low Carbohydrate diet also prevents you from Cholesterol and triglycerides.

Drop in foltate or folic acid or Vitamin B9 levels may increase risk of dementia
BY ANDRE PIARD, Public Health Reporter
Seniors with low levels of the B vitamin folate/ Vitamin B9 have more than triple the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, according to the new research.
But what remains unclear is whether the lack of folate circulating in the blood contributes to the onset of dementia or is a result of the physical changes related to memory loss.
Jin-Sang Yoon, a psychiatric researcher at Chonnam National University Medical School in Kwangju, South Korea, and lead author of the research, said that, regardless, the folate levels of the elderly provide valuable information and should be monioted.
“Attention needs to be paid to the nutritional status of people with dementia from the time of diagnosis onwards, regardless of whether this is a cause or effect of the condition.”
The study, published in today’s edition of the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, involved 518 people over the age of 65, who were tracked over a period of two years. All the participants live in South Korea.
During that period, 45 of them developed dementia principally Alzheimer’s disease, but also vascular dementia.
Researchers tested the blood levels of all participants for folate, vitamin B12 and the amino acid homocystine.
At the start of the two-year period, 20 per cent of participants had high levels of homocysteine, while 17 per cent had low vitamin B12 levels and 3.5 per cent were folae deficient.
The higher the levels of folate to begin with, the higher were vitamin B12 levels, and the lower those of homocysteine.
The seniors with low folate levels at the outset of the study were 3.2 times more likely to develop dementia ; those with low levels of vitamin B12 had a much lower risk, about 60 per cent.
A number of studies have shown that high levels of homocysteine- a substance that can make arteries stiffen and clog- translate into higher rates of heart disease and dementia.
Folate, or vitamin B9, is found in leafy green vegetables such as spinch, broccoli and asparagus, and in legumes such as lentils and kidney beans, and in citrus fruits. It is also well established that folate and B12 lower homocysteine.
What remains in question, however, is whether bolstering intake of B vitamins- for example with folic acid and B12 supplements- can actually prevent or slow the onset of dementia.
The new research does not directly answer that question, but it does demonstrate quite clearly that a drop in folate levels is closely associated with the onset of dementia
Dr. Yoon and his team cautioned that when people begin to suffer from dementia, one of the first effects is dietary changes- the poor eating habits could explain the drops in folate and B12 levels. People with dementia also suffer weight loss and a drop in blood pressure.
Dr. Yoon said the “relationship between weight loss and micronutrient concentration is potentially complex,” but the new research suggests that it may be related to poor diet.
The researcher said that paying more attention to the “nutritionally deficient frail population” is probably a good strategy for delaying the onset of dementia…

Diabetes: Pancreatic Transplants
A pancreatic transplant involves replacing some or all of a diabetic person’s faulty islets of Langerhns cells with healthy ones that will produce insulin. Recently researchers have made important progress since the mid- 1990s in transplanting islet cells from donated pancreases into people with severe type 1 diabetes.
The Edmonton Protocol
1995 researchers working in Emonton, Canada, reported an important advance. They had extracted islet cells from donated pancreases from people who had died and injected them into the liver. The technique – now called the Edmonton Protocol is surprisingly simple and can be carried out under local anesthetic. Using a fine needle, the cells are injected into the main blood vessel of the liver. After the transplant, people are usually able to go home within 24 hours.

What Is Alzheimer’s Disease?
Alzheimer’s disease is a form of many different diseases of the brain that cause people to experience serious memory loss and confusion.
Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive condition that affects a person’s brain cells. This means that the brain cells gradually die and more parts of the brain become damaged. The person’s symptoms will eventually become worse. The early stages of Alzheimer’s disease may become forgetful or have difficulty finding the right words for everything. One of the first symptoms is the loss of short-term memory (the ability to remember recent events)
People with Alzheimer’s disease have a shortage of important chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are responsible for the transmission of messages with the brain. These messages control functions such as memory, ability to think clearly, speech, and movement.

The Hidden damage to to your teeth
The acid in many foods and drinks – juices, some soft drinks and wine can damage your teeth by softening the enamel surface of your teeth. In the early stages of acid wear, teeth may change their brightness. As this surface wears away, the yellow dentin underneath can become exposed. This can cause teeth to appear more yellow in colour and they may feel more sensitive to cold or hot. To reduce the affects of acid on your teeth, to follow the advice of your dental doctor, regular dental check ups. If possible, drink soft drinks through a straw directed away from your teeth.

The herpes simplex virus
The herpes simplex virus spends most of its life hidden deep within the nerves and waiting for the immune system to drop its guard. When the coast is clear, it rushes to the skin, causing ugly, painful sores that can last a week or more. Then it retreats back into the nerves, waiting weeks, months, or even years before re-occurring.
Herpes simplex virus 1, Genital Herpes- 2, varicella zoster virus and cold sores
Herpes simplex virus 1, 2, varicella zoster and cold sores infections are all belongs the Herpes virus group. From centuries, viruses are the enemies of human kind. Genital Herpes is a sexually transmitted disease (STD). This disease is responsible for the painful, irritating and embarrassing outbreaks. The virus persists in the nerve and it considered incurable, though there is much you can do to inactivate the virus. Harpies Simplex Virus- 1 (HSV-1) is causes cold sores on the lips and the cornea of eye. HSV-2 causes genital occurrences. Harpies Simplex Virus (HSV-2) reactivated by immune deficiency, diabetese, depression, anxiety, hormonal changes, during periods (menses), physical or emotional stress.
Now the scientists know that human immune system is so powerful to overcome the Herpes simplex accordingly.
To keep prevent from outbreaks:
Avoid: Almonds, Wall nuts and chocolate, peanuts, sunflower seeds other nuts’ protein trigger the Herpes virus re-occurrences. Therefore, those who are getting re-occurrences of Herpes simplex infection frequently should avoid eating nuts. Avoid tomatoes and peas too. Try to control high blood pressure.
Keep your immune system high, it will help prevent outbreaks:
The best treatment of Harpies Simplex virus I, II and varicella Zoster is 250 milligrams vitamin C five times a day every day. (Take Vitamin C 250 milligrams, 4-5 times a day every day after 5 hours and Vitamin E 400 IU daily whole of life.) Vitamin C and Vitamin E 400 IU works better than acyclovir, Famcyclovir and Valacyclovir. Take Zinc picolinate: 50 mg daily.
Lysine is good to prevent form Herpes Simplex virus re-occurrence. Lentils and legumes (beans) and eags are the best source of lysine. Bee propolis ointment also helps to prevent from re-occurring. Turmeric also helps to prevent from re-occurring of harpies outbreaks. Mix water in Turmeric powder and make paste of turmeric and apply the affected area.
Cut off refine carbohydrates, starchy foods, Sugar and sugar products, rice and rice products, potato and potato products. Eat deep water fish, drink 8 glasses of fresh clean water and yogurt early in the morning every day and apply yogurt to the tingling area to prevent from occurring. Add red onion, garlic, ginger, and turmeric in your food. Mix the lemon drops and tincture together in equal parts and apply the affected area.
Do not burst the blister/bubble of harpies with pin or any thing. Wash the affected area with hydrogen per oxide available at grocery stores and pharmacies with out prescription. Try not to touch the affected area with bare hands. Use gloves, or tissue paper to save your hand. Do not expose the affected area to sun or sun shine. Eat fresh washed raw green leafy and colorful vegetable and fruits and drink 8 glasses of crystal clear and clean fresh water every day.

Chickenpox and Herpes Infections (Curable and Preventable)
Klenner (July 1949, 1953, 1974) reported having excellent results in the vitamin C treatment of chickenpox, shingles, and herpes simplex. Klenner treated a series of eight adults who had shingles…
Further experimental evidence supports the ability of vitamin C to inactivate herpesviruses. Sagripanti et al. (1997) found that least one form of herpesvirus, herpes simplex. Furthermore, the authors suggested that the concentrations of vitamin C and copper needed to kill this herpesvirus indicated that preparations for human ingestion could be administered with only a minimal risk of any toxicity. Such suggestions indicate a lack of awareness of vitamin C’s already well-established nontoxic profile….
White et al. (1986) were also able to demonstrate that vitamin C, with the assistance of ionic copper, was able to inactivate all of the viruses tested. In addition to the inactivation of herpes simplex virus types 1 and type 2, vitamin C also completely terminated the infectivity of cytomegalovirus, parainfuenzavirus type 2, and respiratory syncytial virus.
Still further evidence of the ability of vitamin C to effectively treat herpesvirus infections comes from studies performed on different applications of vitamin C directly on herpetic lesions. Hamuy and Berman (1998) reported that the treatment of herpes simplex virus infections with topical vitamin C “shows promising effects.” Hovi et al. (1995) did a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial that applied a vitamin C-containing solution against herpes lesions that erupt on mucous membranes, such as in the mouth. Based on symptom control, length of scab formation, and viral cultures, it was determined that this preparation resulted in statistically significant clinical and antiviral effects.Terezhalmy et al. (1978) demonstrated a positive effect of oral vitamin C on recurrent herpes labialis (cold sores). This study showed a clear remission in the related symptoms from the administration of only 600 mg of vitamin C (along with bioflavonoids) three times daily.
Some of the important initial groundwork establishing the likelihood that herpesviruses were killed (inactivated) by vitamin C in the body came from the work of Holden and Resbuck (1936). Their research clearly demonstrated that vitamin C in the test tube inactivated the strain of herpesvirus tested….

After 1- 9 months, coughing, sinus congestion, fatigue, shortness of breath may decrease. Your cilia- those microscopic hairs that line your lungs- may even begin to re-grow and that can help clean the lungs and reduce your chance of infection.
After 1 year or just after 12 months down the road and you’ve cut your risk of heart disease in half. Congratulations!
Smoking myths busted!
Myth: Light cigarettes are better for me.
Fact: Light cigarettes have filters that change how you smoke. So you may drag deeper or more often on a “light” cigarette to get your nicotine hit, but you’re still inhaling the same amount of deadly toxins that regular cigarettes have. Because of this, “light” cigarettes are just as deadly as regular ones.
Myth: If I quit smoking, I’ll gain weight.
Fact: 1 in 5 quitters won’t gain any weight at all- and for those that do, the average is 5-7 pounds. It’s important t remember that weight gain is in your control: drinking water, healthy eating, chewing sugar-free gum and exercising are all good ways to combat your cravings and keep your weight down.
Myth: Cigarettes put me in a good mood.
Fact: While smokers feel an immediate “hit”, that rush is soon followed by depression and fatigue as your body craves more nicotine. In other words, your good mood is quickly replaced by a bad one.
Myth: Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) isn’t safe if I have heart disease.
Fact: NRT has been shown to be safe for most people who suffer from heart disease. But be sure to consult with your doctor before using NRT.
If you smoke a pack a day, that’s how much you’d save in one year if you kicked the habit. And if you deposit that money in Saving account or bond annually, 20 years down the road you could have a nice chunk of money.
You can cope when you quit
As you know by now, nicotine is very addictive. So when you quit, you may feel some withdrawal symptoms. Most last 7-10 days and can be managed.
Most people who quit smoking share similar experiences. If you know what to expect, you can better prepare yourself to have a successful quit.
If you find that you are moody (irritable, anxious, angry, frustrated), this may be because your body has become used to the temporary “high” that nicotine gave you. Try relaxation exercises. NRT may also help reduce the physical effects.
You may experience trouble sleeping. Your body does not break down caffeine as effectively without nicotine. So try cutting back on your caffeine consumption by at least half. You may not feel as jittery either.
Because nicotine stimulates the intestines, in the short term, you may experience constipation. Try to eat more fibrous fruit and vegetables until this, uh, passes.
As your lungs clear themselves and become healthier, you may cough more than usual. Cough drops and drinking water can soothe your throat.
Most people experience oral cravings. Have some healthy substitutes on hand just in case: sugar-free gum, or carrot sticks are great. But watch out with the candy or other sweets! Drinking water does help as well, or even deep breathing.
Another way to deal with your craving for a smoke is to do something else- like go for a walk or brush your teeth. In many cases, the urge will pass in a few minutes.
Remember- all of these symptoms are temporary and are signs of recovery. They will be replaced by better health for you and those around you!

Bad Breath Definition
Bad breath, also known as halitosis, is a very common temporary condition caused by such things as oral dryness, stress, hunger (ketosis), eating certain foods such as garlic and onions, smoking, or poor oral hygiene.

What is diabetes?
Diabetes is a disease in which your body cannot properly store and use glucose- your body’s energy source. Your body uses insulin to tap into this energy. People with Type 1 diabetes cannot produce insulin or produce too little. Those with Type 2 diabetes can’t use the insulin the body makes. Diabetes is one of the fastest growing diseases in all over the world today and more than 1 million new cases are diagnosed every year.

WHAT IS CHOLESTROL? VERY IMPORTANT AND VALUABLE INFO ABOUT CHOLESTROL
Source: PRESENTED BY RASGAS MEDICAL CENTRE
LOWERING YOUR CHOLESTEROL
Cholesterol is a type of fat made in the liver and found in animal foods.
CHOLESTEROL IS NEEDED FOR IMPORTANT BODY FUNCTIONS.
Such as…
• Building cell walls
• Protecting nerves
• Making hormones.
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF CHOLESTEROL.
• THE GOOD. (HDL or High Density Lipid)
• THE BAD and the UGLY!! (LDL or Low Density Lipid.)
A higher level of HDL is needed to carry LDL from the BLOOD back to the LIVER to be ELIMINATED from the body.
If there is a higher level of LDL cholesterol in the BLOOD this may:
• Cause high blood pressure!
• Raise your risk of heart attack!
• Raise your risk of stroke!
• Cause the kidneys to fail!
Cholesterol is broken down into LDL which is needed by the body cells. Once the cells are satisfied the unused LDL remains to become what is known as blood cholesterol.
The main danger of high blood cholesterol is that fatty plaques may form which will decrease the diameter of blood vessels. This leads to a restriction of the flow of blood and oxygen to the tissues of the body.
• If an artery supplying blood to the HEART becomes blocked you may have a heart attack!
• If an artery supplying blood to the BRAIN becomes blocked you may have a Stroke!
• If an artery supplying blood to the kidney becomes blocked you may suffer kidney failure.
