In laboratory monkeys have shown cleaner arteries when their feed includes omega-3 oil and studies suggest human beings may also benefit by using omega-3. Wall nuts, fish and seeds are good source of Omega-3.

Is Barack Obama a Progressive?
A Silly Question: “Is Barack Obama a Progressive?”*
By Paul Street
Courtesy: zmag, August 29, 2009 via Globeistan
…Is Barack Obama a progressive? John Wilson says “yes,” I say “no.” But how much does the question really matter at the end of the day? Obama wasn’t selected to head the United Way or the White Sox. He’s chief executive of the American Empire. He is a politician above all – one who was selected to sit atop and, I think, to re-brand what the left-liberal political scientist Sheldon Wolin rightly calls “Democracy, Incorporated.”
Pakistanis increasingly see their U.S. ally as a hostile power
By Saeed Shah Islamabad
After Pakistani television broadcast images of the homes of so-called U.S. “spices,” bloggers called on people to kill the occupants. The TV programs insisted they were CIA, FBI or private-security operatives and the Pakistani media’s separate outing of a U.S. aid worker as a secret agent took the rising vilification of the United States to a new level. According to the U.S. embassy, American lives are now being put at risk.

A confident Baloch guerrilla commander Nawabzada Bramdagh Bugti, 28, believes it is now “impossible” for Islamabad to get him extradited even if he is hiding somewhere in Afghanistan, as claimed by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik, or elsewhere in the wake of increasing “international moral support” the “ Baloch national liberation movement” is attracting because of its “legitimacy”.
Good News from PPP government
Islamabad – Something positive from PPP Govt. Under the new Education Policy, the Govt intends to more than double the budget allocation for Education from 2.5% to 7% of GDP. If this materialises this will increase the national literacy rate and improve the quality of education in schools etc.

World Suicide Prevention Day
Courtesy: WHO, 10 September 2009
World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September promotes worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides. On average, almost 3000 people commit suicide daily. For every person who completes a suicide, 20 or more may attempt to end their lives.
With the sponsoring International Association for Suicide Prevention, WHO and other partners advocate for the prevention of suicidal behaviour, provision of adequate treatment and follow-up care for people who attempted suicide, as well as responsible reporting of suicides in the media.
At the global level, awareness needs to be raised that suicide is a major preventable cause of premature death. Governments need to develop policy frameworks for national suicide prevention strategies. At the local level, policy statements and research outcomes need to be translated into prevention programmes and activities in communities.

U.S. ploted general Zia’s plane crash – says ex-spymaster
Brigadier Imtiaz “Billa”, former chief of Intelligence Bureau, said US along with ‘internal powers’ in Pakistan assassinated general Zia-ul-Haq.
Islamabad: US and “internal powers” were behind the 1988 plane crash that killed General Zia-ul-Hq, who ruled Pakistan from 1978 till his death, a former Pakistani spymaster has claimed. Imtiaz Ahmed, a former chief of the Intelligence Bureau, said the US collaborated with “internal powers” in Pakistan to assassinate Zia. An open letter to a senior minister of Sindh
Dear Pir Mazhar Ul Haq
I am shocked to hear that our PPP government has denied promotion to Additional Chief Secretary Sindh (ACS) Nazar Mahar. As a result, he has resigned.
I first met Nazar Mahar Saheb when he was Commissioner of Larkana, a few years ago. He was living a very simple life style and had undertaken many projects for welfare of local people. I met him again when he was Secretary Education. He is known to be one of the most honest and dedicated civil servants.
He was indeed dedicated to service of people. I am shocked that he has been denied promotion. If this happens to our good officers, then who will speak up for our genuine needs.
I request you to ensure that he is accomodated and his resignation is not accepted.

Nazar Mahar missing from promotion list of civil service of Sindh!
by Mohammad Ali Mahar, Austin, TX, USA
A couple of months ago, one of my friends happened to be in a Sindh government meeting chaired by Nazar Mahar. According to him, in the meeting, the DCO Karachi demanded the lion’s share for Karachi from the funds allocated for the Sindh province. Mr. Mahar, in his capacity as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Sindh, refused to fulfill the demand saying, “Mr. so and so, these funds are for the whole of Sindh and Sindh is not just about Karachi”. The DCO, a relatively junior officer, not used to being refused from the government officials, got enraged and misbehaved with Mr. Mahar. He told Mahar that he had made a mistake by refusing his demand and would pay dearly for it.
Then about a month or so ago, the omnipotent Nazim of Karachi, issued a statement, duly and dutifully carried by Jand and other ‘national’ media outlets, that the only hindrance to city’s progress was a man named Nazar Mahar.
I am not surprised at all to see his name missing from the list of blessed few. I had been awaiting this moment and wanted to see how they were going to sting an officer of otherwise immaculate record. In Sindhi they say, “Daryaah mein rahi waaggun saan ver!”
Genesis of Separatist Sentiment in Sindh

History, as recorded in the Indian subcontinent, has seldom dilated upon the real sentiments of the nations, peoples or the masses inhabiting various politically sovereign territories comprising the region. The reason is not far to seek. “Historians”, travelers and authors through ages, without exception, have been courtiers of the ruling dynasties, most of whom in turn have been installed by marauders and plunderers of yore. Such historiographers have, without blinking their eye-lids, eulogized the most despicable rascals as most eminent monarchs, defenders of faith and purveyors of justice, virtue and generosity. On the other hand, they have castigated and ridiculed the rulers and leaders of the people, indeed the people themselves, who were subjugated or enslaved, as despicable scum of the earth only to be punished, crushed and beheaded for the slightest provocation.

VENICE (Reuters) – Capitalism is evil. That is the conclusion U.S. documentary maker Michael Moore comes to in his latest movie “Capitalism: A Love Story,” which premieres at the Venice film festival Sunday. Blending his trademark humor with tragic individual stories, archive footage and publicity stunts, the 55-year-old launches an all out attack on the capitalist system, arguing that it benefits the rich and condemns millions to poverty. “Capitalism is an evil, and you cannot regulate evil,” the two-hour movie concludes. “You have to eliminate it and replace it with something that is good for all people and that something is democracy.”

Kashmir Deserves Urgent International Attention: Dr. Fai
Washington, DC, September 6th, 2009. Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Executive Director, Kashmiri American Council/Kashmir Center, said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir still have confidence in the United Nations despite its failure to resolve many international disputes. However, Dr. Fai added, that it is crucial to remind the international community of United Nations Security Resolution # 209 which was adopted in its 1237th meeting on September 4th, 1965. That resolution was unanimously adopted with the clear support of the United States of America wherein the Security Council expressed its concern at the deteriorating situation in the disputed territory of Kashmir.

Charley Horse or Leg cramps
You will be lying in bed or even asleep when you get this terrible knot usually in the calf but sometimes in the thigh or the arch of your foot. What causes a charley horse? It can be the result of sore muscles, a mineral deficiency or hormonal imbalance or even a process known as calcification, in which blood gets trapped in a muscle and hardens. There is a difference between charley horse and leg cramps. Leg cramps, especially in the elderly, often result when not enough blood gets to the muscles. A charley horse is likely to be caused by too much blood getting to the muscles ( there may be other causes as well). Cramp (involuntarily muscles movement) and charley horses attack in different ways. “Leg cramps usually occur while your are walking and will come more gradually, building as you use the muscle more but charley horse, on the other hand, comes more suddenly and isn’t necessarily related to physical activity or using the muscle. These tips may help – Take vitamin E and magnesium or Multi-vitamins and multi-minerals or eat fresh and washed raw vegetables and fruits.

Heaven and Hell
A holy man was having a conversation with the Creator one day and said— ‘Creator, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.’ The Creator led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man’s mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but … Because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Creator said, ‘Now, you have seen Hell.’
They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man’s mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here each person was well-nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, ‘I don’t understand.’ ‘It is simple,’ explained the Creator. ‘It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.’

Sugar, refine carbohydrates and starchy foods are more harmful than fats
For years, doctors tried to get patients to reduce fat and cholesterol, but it didn’t work. Even after strict control of fat and cholesterol people are still getting weight and heart attacks. But now new scientific research turned old theories upside down. Now the scientists know that Sugar, refine carbohydrates and starchy foods are more harmful than fat. All fats are not bad. Especially, coconut oil is good for heart patients. Other fats will go to store in body cells but the coconut oil is the medium chain fatty acid (MCFA) which is goes to liver and than immediately converted into energy. Therefore, when we eat coconut oil, the body uses it immediately. If you want to healthy and long life than avoid while flour, potato, rice, sugar and sugar products and reduce you intake of sodium (salt). Deep water fish is good for health.
Car crash accident rescue
Suggestions for Higher education (HEC) actions in Sindh
by Ali Nawaz Memon, Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA
1. The discussion about admission policy in Karachi University in today’s paper. It appeared that the Education Minister made some statement and MQM MNA disagreed. Statement of the Karachi VC was non committal. I am not sure if any action will take place. WE NEED A CLEAR ADMISSION POLICY DECISION WITH TEETH WHICH WILL BE IMPLEMENTED BY A FIXED DATE.
2. The admission policy should APPLY TO OTHER PUBLICLY FUNDED UNIVERSITIES SUCH AS DOW MEDICAL, ENGINEERING ETC OF KARACHI.
3. The discussion about opening doors of universities in Punjab to Sindhis. However, we know that most Sindhis will not be able to go to study in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad etc for financial and other reasons. Accordingly, THERE MUST BE FINANCIAL INCENTIVES TO ATTRACT SINDHI STUDENTS TO GO TO UNIVERSITIES IN PUNJAB. THIS IS CLEARLY NEEDED FOR SAKE OF NATIONAL INTEGRATION.
4. As far as I know, in rural Sindh we have only two general universities- – Sindh and Khairpur. The Khairpur one does not have a proper campus due to the unfortunate happenings at the Shadi shaheed campus. KHAIRPUR UNIVERSITY NEEDS A PROPER CAMPUS. FURTHER MORE, THE STANDARD OF KHAIRPUR MUST BE RAISED.
5. WE NEED ABOUT 3 MORE GENERAL UNIVERSITIES IN SINDH– ONE IN UPPER SINDH (E.G) GARHI KHAIR BUX/ LARKANA), ONE IN THAR (MIRPURKHAS/ SANGHAR/ MITTHI/ ISLAMKOT), AND ONE IN THE MIDDLE (NAWABSHAH/ BADIN).
Muslim ‘Terrorists’ Manufactured By The Media
Courtesy: countercurrents.org, via- Globeistan
By Yoginder Sikand
It is not just the ‘loony’ ‘vernacular’ media, as many are given to believe, but even the ‘respectable’, ‘mainstream’, ‘national’ English-language press in India that have sedulously cultivated the notion of ‘Islamic terrorism,’ so much so that the image of Muslims in general being either terrorists or their sympathizers enjoys wide currency today. While it is true that some of the most dastardly terror attacks that India has witnessed in recent years have been the handiwork of some Muslims—and this is something that the vast majority of the Indian Muslims themselves deplore—it is also undeniable that Muslims have been unfairly blamed for many other attacks or alleged ‘terror plots’ by the police as well as the media in which they have had no role to play at all. Many Muslims—and others, too—believe that these false allegations are not innocent errors, but can be said to represent a deliberate and concerted effort to defame and demonise an entire community and the religion with which it is associated.

Baloch Girls Cry! Slaves have no future!
by Khalid Hashmani, McLean, Virginia, USA
Once again, here comes a heart-wrenching cry from Balochistan in the form of audio interview with two Baloch college students. This BBC interview displays unparallel determination and commitment of Baluch youth for their freedom. The students are highly critical of Pakistan and talk about in a despising manner. They relate the tragic killings of their fathers and brothers and call the present situation of Balochistan being an occupied land. They pledge to fight for their freedom until death. Their final message is that they would prefer honorable death over the life of slavery.

The “Paris of Sindh”
Shikarpur was the major trading center where caravans from Central Asia, China and India met, much before the time of the British. Shikapuri merchants provided banking services for secure transfer of funds, so merchants could transmit funds without having to carry them back and forth. Shikarpuri merchants formed the backbone of import export business in central Asia, returning home every few years.
Now the world has become the playground for the descents of these traders. The Hindujas are one family from Shikarpur who are now billionaires with far flung business empire in the UK, Switzerland, India and other places. Feeling compelled to leave Shikarpur and their homes behind, they restarted and made their fortune in international trade.

Greetings on the Festival of Love (Ishk-a-mubaaraka): The death Anniversary of Sachal Sarmast (1739-1829). The Full moon is tomorrow 16:05 GMT.. and with it the anniversary celebrated as the Festival of Love.
Kazi burn thy books.
The Master has instructed me:
“Know thyself,” He said.
He taught me the path of heresy.
Some go to Kaaba, others to Kibla,
All these things are mere pretexts.
Why should I turn to Kaaba,
When my Master in tavern dwells?
Be thou [divinely] mad,
Drink deep the wine of madness.

Blood ONCE AGAIN ignites fire in Balochistan
Courtesy: GMCMissing, September 1, 2009
By Malik Siraj Akbar
Violence broke out in various districts of Balochistan on Monday after the recovery of the dead body of another Baloch nationalist leader who had been allegedly whisked away by the state-controlled intelligence agencies. Khalil Ahmed Baloch, the secretary general of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), whose chairman Ghulam Mohammad Baloch and two other Baloch leaders were killed in April this year in Turbat, informed this writer from Khuzdar that the dead body of the party’s central joint-secretary Rasool Baksh Mengal had been found in Lasbela district.
