It is indeed a pleasure to share with you all that this year prior to the official SAARC Summit a People’s Assembly will be organized from 18th to 20th July at Colombo . South Asian heads of government will meet in Colombo, Sri Lanka for the annual South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit between 27 July and 3 August 2008.
leading figures of Pakistani civil society are going to attend the upcoming Peoples’ SAARC meeting in Colombo-Srilanka, that includes writers, intellectuals, parliamentarians, peace and human rights activists, NGO activists, journalists, TV anchors, columnists, political leaders, trade union and labour organization workers fro Sindh, Balochistan, NWFP, Punjab and Kashmir hosted by one of Pakistan’s’ leading civil society organization PILER.
It’s a unique kind of forum organised by the civil society networks of All SAARC countries parallel to state level SAARC summit. The below mentioned agenda will let you know the diversity and exceptionality of this very important summit through peoples perspective. The outcome (resolutions, decisions and consultation results) of this huge exercise will be shared with you all.
